La Huella Ecológica Y Su Aplicación A Organizaciones: El Caso De Una Empresa Conservera En Galicia (España)

Abstract

Este artículo consta de dos partes principales. En una primera, describimos las características de la huella ecológica (HE) describiendo el indicador, explicando sus objetivos y el método de cálculo. Posteriormente, incidimos en las particularidades de la huella ecológica corporativa (HEC), describiendo las particularidades del método elegido, el “método compuesto de las cuentas contables” (MCCC). En una segunda parte, realizamos una aplicación práctica a una empresa del sector conservero gallego en dos años diferentes, 2002 y 2007. Los resultados permiten identificar claramente aquellos consumos que generan una mayor HEC (productos del mar, consumo directo e indirectos de energía, productos cultivados y recursos forestales), además de mostrar una reducción de la huella en el último año estudiado, debida a un menor nivel de actividad de la empresa.
