Economías De Escala En Las Universidades Públicas Españolas

Abstract

Este artículo trata de demostrar la existencia de economías de escala en las universidades públicas españolas. Para ello se analizan los capítulos de gasto y se realizan estimaciones mediante una función de costes lineal y otra cuadrática. El objetivo es encontrar el número de estudiantes que minimiza los costes. Los resultados muestran como un gran número de universidades públicas no son eficientes desde el punto de vista de costes dado su reducido número de estudiantes.
