Estudio de un modelo de banca: La Banca Pública Española

Abstract

La banca pública en España constituyó un modelo singular respecto al mayoritario negocio privado de la banca que vino funcionando a lo largo de casi dos siglos. Sin embargo, a partir de la entrada de España en la Comunidad Económica Europea, la pervivencia de este tipo de servicio bancario parece alcanzar a su fin y no tarda en ser absorbido por bancos privados. Más allá de la posible eficacia o no del sistema, o de la congruencia con los postulados ideológicos dominantes, parece oportuno examinar cómo ha ido evolucionando la banca pública nacional y de qué modo ha terminado desapareciendo.
