El interés del presente artículo es comparar el desempeño de las PYMES independientes europeas contra aquellas que son subsidiarias en el sector manufacturero para el año 2006. La información proviene de una encuesta aplicada por el Observatorio Europeo de las PYMES, y de alguna manera, este escrito representa una lectura alternativa a la ofrecida por esta institución en su reporte “Flash Euro barómetro nº 196” presentado en 2007, donde su argumentación básicamente se enfoca en hallazgos generales de las PYMES europeas de diversos sectores; sin tomar en cuenta además, si éstas son independientes o subsidiarias. El presente cuadro de análisis se basa en variables como el nivel de ventas, las exportaciones, la mejora de productos o servicios, entre otras. Debido al tipo de encuesta, recurrimos a la indagación gráfica y a las tablas cruzadas de variables.
