Construcción de una nueva imagen social del adulto en plenitud: Una cultura de la igualdad

Abstract

Es importante aportar estudios que contribuyan a abordar las situaciones del adulto mayor debido a las condiciones precarias y al crecimiento de este segmento de la población en México. Para ello, se analizan las circunstancias que distorsionan la imagen social del adulto mayor en las periferias de Cd. Victoria, Tamaulipas, México. Se diseñó una investigación mixta no experimental transversal explicativa. La muestra es no probabilística de 515 sujetos voluntarios. Los resultados muestran un débil perfil sociodemográfico, confirmando las condiciones de discriminación de estos actores sociales. Es recomendable fortalecer aun más las políticas públicas dirigidas a los adultos mayores.
