Algunas Indefiniciones: una crítica al enfoque de producto turístico en la bibliografía clásica

Abstract

Las economías producen alimentos, indumentarias, heladeras, televisores, automóviles entre otras cosas. Comúnmente estos son llamados productos, pero en el turismo, como en los servicios, el tema no es tan sencillo. Por ese motivo es conveniente cuestionarse: ¿que se entiende como producto turístico?, ¿es correcto hablar sociologicamente de un producto turístico? ¿si existe un producto turístico esto implica necesariamente la existencia de una industria y economía del turismo? El objetivo del siguiente artículo, es establecer un abordaje crítico sobre el concepto de “producto turístico”, definiendo sus alcances y limitaciones en los contextos en los cuales se emplea comúnmente.
