La producción y el uso de Biodiésel en España. Caso particular de Andalucía

Abstract

La situación geopolítica actual y la dependencia que los países occidentales tienen del petróleo han obligado a que se busquen energías alternativas que tengan la suficiente rentabilidad y eficacia. La eólica y la solar, tanto térmica como fotovoltaica avanzan a pasos agigantados en su carrera hacia el mayor número de megavatios generados. La energía nuclear empieza a retomarse, y otras alternativas como el hidrogeno, o la biomasa son todavía incipientes. El elevado precio del petróleo y la necesidad de reducir la superficie plantada de cultivos tradicionales hace que los biocarburantes, que figuraban en las ultimas posiciones debido a sus altos costes de producción, empiecen a tomar más importancia. En este estudio se analiza la situación en cuanto a ensayos de uso, costes de producción, y la evolución que la fabricación de biocarburantes, en concreto del biodiésel, debería seguir para que España pudiera cumplir los objetivos de la Directiva 2003/30/CE referida a uso de biocarburantes.
