El Litoral de las Minas-Laguna del Cura, Cienfuegos, Cuba: ecosistemas y presiones antropogénicas

Abstract

Las zonas costeras constituyen áreas de una significación social extraordinaria, tan es así que, según la literatura sobre el tema, más de un tercio de la población mundial vive en las zonas costeras. Las tradicionales políticas de desarrollo en estas zonas no han garantizado el buen funcionamiento de sus ecosistemas, al no tener presente las interconexiones de carácter físico-biológicas, administrativas y socio-económicas que ocurren en este espacio geográfico. Así, las comunidades dependientes de los recursos marino-costeros viven bajo riegos y amenazas ambientales que deben ser transformados. En el presente trabajo se caracteriza la zona costera de Las Minas-Laguna del Cura, se identifican y caracterizan los diferentes ecosistemas presentes en el área, así como las principales presiones antropogénicas presentes en el área de estudio.
