Imperialismo clássico e contemporâneo: debates e apontamentos teóricos

Abstract

A presente pesquisa visa fazer uma análise sobre as teorias clássicas e contemporâneas do imperialismo. A metodologia utilizada no trabalho foi revisão bibliográfica de abordagem qualitativa. Teve-se como critérios a utilização de literatura clássica sobre a temática, artigos e estudos contemporâneos. Este trabalho é dividido em três partes: na primeira, há uma breve análise do seu conceito histórico, na qual a contribuição de Lenin torna-se indispensável. Na segunda, a atenção é voltada para as novas teorias do imperialismo, à luz do que ocorreu após sua formulação original (período posterior às duas guerras mundiais). David Harvey, Atilio Borón, Hardt e Negri contribuem aqui para a pertinência ou não do conceito para o mundo atual. Por fim, na terceira parte, o trabalho busca exemplos de eventos empíricos.
