Entre rios, furos e igarapés: o ambiente aquático no imaginário social dos ribeirinhos de uma sociedade amazônica

Abstract

En este estudio se destacan las percepciones de una sociedad amazónica, en el estado de Pará, en la Amazonía brasileña, sobre el medio acuático, en este contexto, entendido por ríos, pozos y arroyos. A través de un estudio de caso guiado por medio de entrevistas semiestructuradas y observación participante, se entendió que el medio acuático, lejos de ser sólo "las calles" en que circulan los barcos todos los días y de donde se saca gran parte de la dieta de muchas sociedades amazónicas, da vida a las historias y mitos que son significativos en el modo de vida de este tipo de sociedades.
