Reflexões sobre a corrupção e a identidade no Brasil

Abstract

O debate acerca da corrupção no Brasil tem se tornado crescente nos últimos anos em virtude de operações investigativas para apurar esquemas ilícitos envolvendo o setor público e o privado. Tomados pela indignação frente a um cenário de corrupção despótica, muitos brasileiros questionam como a corrupção se instalou profundamente no tecido social. Impelidos por estas inquietudes, este artigo se propôs a refletir sobre a corrupção a partir de conceitos de cordialidade (Holanda, 1995; Damatta, 1997), identidade (Woodward, 2000) e cultura (Geertz, 1989) para abordar como a conduta do brasileiro em suas relações sociais cotidianas não(está) envolta por atos de corrupção e os caminhos para romper com o poder ''fetichizado'' (Dussel, 2009) que causam relevantes interferências nas sociedades contemporâneas.
