Hacia Dónde Va El Periodismo En América Latina: Un Estado De La Cuestión Crítico

Abstract

Este artículo pretende exponer las principales tendencias que han aparecido en América Latina en los últimos años alrededor del ejercicio periodístico y que señalan claramente que algo está cambiando en la profesión. En los últimos años se han publicado decenas de libros, artículos y ponencias en congresos que han sacado a la luz distintas tendencias periodísticas presentes en la actualidad en Latinoamérica y que unidas a las que se pueden observar en el ejercicio diario, dan a entender que estamos viviendo una época de cambios constantes y profundos para el periodismo y los periodistas. Pero, ¿hacia dónde vamos, porqué y para qué?. En realidad las respuestas a estas preguntas acaban confluyendo en un punto común que está marcado por la necesidad de comprensión de un estado de la cuestión o marco teórico que tiene raíces profundas en las principales características que experimenta la región en la actualidad y que en este artículo serán expuestas y analizadas.
