Abstract

O presente artigo tem por finalidade, apresentar a relação entre o Estatuto da Cidade e o Planejamento urbano, por intermédio dos instrumentos de Política Urbana disponíveis para aplicação nos municípios brasileiros. Pretende identificar os instrumentos e suas formas de atuação e, por consequência as soluções advindas da utilização dos meios tributários e financeiros visando uma cidade organicamente mais ativa sob aspecto social e ambiental. Evidenciar a necessidade do gestor público em assumir o compromisso de reordenação do espaço urbano para a sustentabilidade nas cidades. Para tanto foi utilizado o método descritivo, em pesquisa qualitativa, com abordagem bibliográfica e documental.
