Abstract

Mindelo es una ciudad del siglo XIX, erigida en la isla de San Vicente, por determinación de la Reina Portuguesa D. María II. El poblamiento de la isla ha sido hecho a través de varias tentativas, desde el siglo XVIII y el poblado ha conocido varias designaciones. La urbanización dela ciudad ha sido planificada, según el ideal del progresismo, con el objetivo de ser la capital del archipiélago de Cabo Verde, además de su situación geoestratégica en el atlántico.
