Abstract

A obra de Richard Hartshorne, em função da sua riqueza, ainda se encontra à espera de uma maior análise e difusão no país. Tendo como base esta ideia, o trabalho em questão tem como objetivo desenvolver uma apreciação de alguns aspectos da produção acadêmica hartshorniana, principalmente no que concerne à questão do método em Geografia, e sobre a Geografia Regional e Política estabelecida pelo autor. Além disso, buscou-se abordar no transcorrer do texto a influência do pensamento de Kant e Hettner perante os estudos realizados por Hartshorne e demonstrar os elementos inovadores do teórico ao ramo de estudo da Geografia. O impacto das ideias estabelecidas pelo autor à produção geográfica posterior, também representa um dos pontos a serem analisados.
