Mitos Y Leyendas En La Décima Tunera

Abstract

El folklore campesino es uno de los mayores defensores de las historias míticas porque del campo salieron las primeras experiencias, fue de los arroyos cercanos a las fincas donde se comenzó a hablar de güijes. Así era la vida en Las Tunas hasta algunas décadas después del triunfo revolucionario cubano. Las Tunas es una ciudad rica en mitos y leyendas, historias contadas de generación en generación que distinguen la épocas por las que ha transitado el pueblo. Su topónimo mismo es una leyenda, cuyo protagonista es el extenso hato de Opuntia Dillenii, nombre científico de la tuna brava a la que a su vez se le atribuyen propiedades como protectora de la casa, para alejar la envidia, los malos ojos y hasta algunas enfermedades. En el presente todavía constituye un símbolo para los tuneros donde no pocos, tienen sembrada una en el patio o portal de su casa.
