Los Holguineros Y Su Representación Social: Un Acercamiento A Su Estudio

Abstract

El artículo analiza la manera en que las características de los habitantes de la provincia Holguín han evolucionado a través de las diferentes épocas y acontecimientos del territorio. Un ejemplo de ello es la formación socio clasista de la población, apoyada en una economía de plantación a mediados del siglo XVIII. Para sustentar la prevalencia de algunos rasgos de la población holguinera, se recurre a la categoría de representaciones sociales, la cual encuentra sus orígenes en la obra del sociólogo francés E. Durkheim. Se realiza un recorrido por los escritos de los holguineros referidos a su representación social como antecedentes al tema tratado y se concluye con características que prevalecen en dicha población.
