La Ciencia Y La Técnica Como Vehículo Para El Desarrollo Social Del País

Abstract

En este artículo se expone, además de los elementos generales necesarios del tema en cuestión, la evolución de la ciencia y la técnica en nuestro país, a partir de la revolución educacional que comenzó desde los primeros años de la década del 60 del pasado siglo y que ha posibilitado contar hoy, con gran cantidad de profesionales y técnicos, preparados, motivados, y comprometidos con el proyecto social del que son parte, y que a su vez constituyen una poderosísima fuerza para la reversión de la tendencia mundial concentradora de la generación y uso del conocimiento. El desarrollo científico alcanzado por Cuba, está encaminado al progreso social, a mejorar la calidad de vida del pueblo y de otras millones de personas en el mundo. Gracias a ello, en el Informe Mundial de la Ciencia (UNESCO, 1998), se reconoce el salto dado por nuestro país en unas pocas décadas en este campo, su organización, así como los notables avances en Biotecnología e Industria Farmacéutica, entre otras áreas de importancia.
