Abstract

El presente trabajo que lleva como título: Contribución del Dr. Francisco Prat Puig a los estudios históricos en Santiago de Cuba (1947-1983), destaca una relevante figura del magisterio universitario que desde 1947 hasta 1997 formó parte del claustro de profesores de la Universidad de Oriente. Se trata de un emigrado catalán que llegó a nuestra Patria con reconocidos logros como pedagogo, investigador, arqueólogo y restaurador. Desde entonces el quehacer diario de este intelectual dentro de la historia y cultura cubanas marcó su posición como teórico de las Ciencias Sociales. La constante preocupación del Dr. Prat por trasmitir saberes y conocimientos dirigió su interés hacia la profesión pedagógica universitaria y a la vez con sus intervenciones, desarrolló la organización de procesos docentes que combinados con la práctica integradora permitieron preparar profesionales comprometidos e identificados con el proyecto social y político que defendemos.
