Abstract

Nuestro trabajo se dirige a analizar la concepción martiana de la dignidad, destacando en ella los aspectos que contribuyeron a fijar su dimensión universal como valor básico en el que descansa el respeto a la persona humana, y la contribución que hiciera Martí al pensamiento moderno de su época en lo atinente a su fundamentación. Para lograrlo esbozamos las diferentes acepciones con que el Héroe Nacional cubano solía utilizar este término, ponderando su alcance en el contexto de su época y la trascendencia universal que tuvo.
