La Abrumadora Disponibilidad De La Información: Estrategias En El Ámbito De La Salud Para El Manejo Inteligente De La Documentación Disponible

Abstract

La disponibilidad de información científica, actualizada y sobreabundante no es sinónimo de estar bien informado ni garantía de que toda esta información se pueda consultar o asimilar. Los especialistas de todas las ramas del conocimiento humano, implementan mecanismos que les permiten ajustar las velas de su navegación por una actualidad marcada por los ciber-recursos y la documentación digital. Cuba no se queda jamás al margen, sus profesionales de la salud realizan ingentes esfuerzos por hacer crecer sus instituciones y su Red Telemática, de modo que ellos también se inserten, con éxito, en el nuevo mundo dinámico, indócil y heterogéneo, construido día a día por la convergencia de las Nuevas Tecnologías de la Información y las Comunicaciones. El presente trabajo pretende aportar algunas consideraciones sobre los temas antes citados y hace énfasis en el rol de las bibliotecas, así como en la actividad informativo-bibliotecaria y el papel del profesional de la información.
