Abstract

La guerra chiquita fue un periodo particular de la guerra de independencia en Cuba durante el siglo XIX. Para la isla Sagua la Grande mereció una mención particular, pues fue precisamente un hijo de esta tierra el último en deponer las armas, sugerido por el mismísimo José Martí, quien le expresó la necesidad de reservar fuerzas y recursos para en el momento apropiado retomar la contienda. Por este motivo le fue llamada: La guerrita de Emilio Núñez.
