Huelgas Obreras En Sagua La Grande A Inicios Del Siglo Xx

Abstract

Desde el comienzo del siglo XX los obreros en Sagua la Grande comenzaron a organizarse y los movimientos obreros del territorio se hicieron sentir. La huelga de los carpinteros en 1905 fue el momento de partida en la gestación de los diferentes sindicatos del municipio. La repercusión de esta acción no fue solo local, se conoció en toda Cuba y de la tradición sindical de esta zona salieron líderes obreros de relevancia nacional, como es el caso de Alfredo López, uno de los principales dirigentes obreros de la isla de Cuba en los comienzos del siglo XX.
