Abstract

En Las Tunas la música campesina es síntesis de un proceso étnico -cultural, conformado por diversas culturas que confluyeron en el país a partir de la conquista y colonización. Rica en tradiciones culturales, fundamentalmente del campesinado cubano, la música campesina se ha adentrado en todas las localidades del territorio, siendo parte así de toda la cultura popular de la zona. No siendo reconocida de esta forma, sino como parte tradicional del folclore campesino se realizó esta investigación bajo el título: La música campesina en la cultura popular del municipio Las Tunas, con el objetivo de valorar su presencia en la cultura popular de la localidad, reafirmándose de esta forma, la identidad tunera a través de géneros, representantes y acciones para su salvaguarda.
