Abstract

En la década de los noventa del pasado siglo, con el surgimiento del periodo especial en nuestra provincia, como en el resto del país, se produjo un notable incremento de las prácticas religiosas, especialmente de las confesiones cristianas. Este incremento fue propiciado fundamentalmente por las carencias del momento. Pertenecer a determinadas organizaciones religiosas significaba en muchos casos recibir algún tipo de beneficio, ya que las diferentes iglesias estaban recibiendo alguna ayuda del exterior
