Abstract

Mucho se ha escrito sobre el general Antonio Maceo como hombre de acción y pensamiento, ya que jugó un trascendental papel en el proceso insurreccional cubano del siglo XIX contra el colonialismo español; sin embargo sus proyecciones en el contexto de la política internacional de la Revolución Cubana han sido muy poco abordadas por sus estudiosos. Las investigaciones realizadas en función de las tesis de Maestría y Doctorado han posibilitado sistematizar un grupo de acciones e ideas del general Antonio, que se encaminan hacia esa dirección en el período 1878-1896. La temática que se propone exponer enriquece la perspectiva histórica del Héroe desde este punto de vista. Abarca un espacio a través del estudio de sus fuentes documentales, muchas de ellas inéditas.
