Invenção Do Outro E Encontro De Identidades Na Fronteira Brasil-Paraguai

Abstract

Tanto limite quanto fronteira exercem papéis fundamentais no que se refere à divisão de dois Estados-Nação. Entretanto, muitas vezes não nos atentamos para a real diferenciação que existe entre esses dois elementos: o primeiro apenas tem função de separar, enquanto que o segundo abrange o estabelecimento de relações distintas; ou seja, existe um intercâmbio cultural, social e político que contribui para que o processo de diferenciação entre o “eu” e o “outro”, a alteridade, seja perceptível. Dessa forma, o presente artigo visa abordar como a fronteira, especificadamente entre Brasil e Paraguai – nas cidades gêmeas de Ponta Porã e Pedro Juan Caballero – pode ser um lugar de construção de novas identidades, ou até mesmo um “entre-lugar”, onde nacionalidades diferentes se encontram e se complementam.
