El Centenario De Los Principia De Bertrand Russell A Propósito Del Artículo De J. M. Sánchez Ron En El País

Abstract

Me ha llamado la atención el artículo de José María Sánchez Ron en el diario EL PAÍS titulado “El valor del fracaso digno” . El autor es uno de los más conocidos historiadores y divulgadores de la ciencia en España y le he leído siempre con fruición todo lo que ha publicado y que yo me haya enterado. Sin embargo, esta vez me ha decepcionado en su artículo. No haré un resumen del mismo porque es del día 11 y puede ser leído en Internet. En la primera parte habla de la incoherencia de los políticos cuando se les pregunta una cosa y contestan a una supuesta pregunta que no ha sido formulada. Me saltaré la crítica a los políticos porque eso no es conveniente para el medio donde va destinado este. Voy ahora a Bertrand Russell (1872-1970), porque en realidad el profesor Sánchez Ron apenas desarrolla el tema de los Principia, aunque lo hace de forma acertada, señalando el intento -que luego el teorema de Godel demostró baldío- de rehacer toda la Matemática bajo los principios de la lógica.
