Paternalismo Empresarial Y Alojamiento Obrero En La Minería Leonesa: Los Poblados Patronales

Abstract

El desarrollo de la minería leonesa desde finales del siglo XIX, genera el problema del alojamiento obrero: una situación de falta de viviendas y alojamiento mínimamente aceptable, que se convirtió también en un problema empresarial para conseguir atraer mano de obra, por lo que, en ocasiones, condujo a la creación de viviendas sociales, bien dentro de los pueblos mineros o mixtos, o junto a las minas, pero generalmente de forma muy desafortunada y con implicaciones político-urbanísticas. En general estos poblados de empresa fueron considerados más como albergues que como viviendas definitivas tanto por las empresas, como por los propios trabajadores usuarios que las consideraban como algo transitorio.
