Abstract

La familia ha estado sujeta a numerosos cambios y transformaciones durante el desarrollo evolutivo que ha experimentado la humanidad. El modelo patriarcal con predominio de la jefatura masculina ha ido cediendo terreno ante numerosos cambios en la estructura y funcionamiento de las familias. La igualdad de derechos y deberes entre los cónyuges, el ejercicio de la patria potestad de ambos padres en beneficio exclusivo de los hijos, la incorporación de la mujer madre-esposa-ama de casa al mundo social, constituyen solamente algunos de los elementos que están influyendo en un replanteamiento de las familias en la actualidad.
