El Imperialismo

Abstract

El imperialismo surge como consecuencia lógica de la Revolución Industrial y la nueva economía capitalista. Se necesitaban nuevos territorios de donde sacar materias primas y nuevos mercados donde vender los productos. Durante la Revolución Industrial se produce un fuerte aumento de la población, de tal manera que a finales del siglo XIX la población europea paso de 300 a 450 millones de habitantes. Por otro lado, la revolución se caracterizó también por los avances tecnológicos, hasta tal punto que el hombre blanco sintió una sensación de poder y de superioridad que le hizo anhelar la conquista de nuevos territorios donde “mejorar” la vida de personas “inferiores”.
