Una mirada crítica a la inclusión escolar comunitaria del niño síndrome Down en Cuba

Abstract

La inclusión escolar comunitaria del niño con Síndrome Down, presupone su necesaria inclusión en el sistema de enseñanza general para lograr su posterior inclusión social y potenciar su desarrollo en un ambiente comunitario que favorezca la existencia de relaciones simétricas horizontales entre las personas con la referida condición y el resto de los individuos. Su formación en un ambiente donde solo interactúen con personas de igual condición los prepara para una sociedad ideal en la que todos tendrían las mismas o parecidas dificultades favoreciendo que las personas con Síndrome de Down conformen una categoría social objeto de estereotipo y prejuicio. La inclusión implica superación crítica de las inequidades sociales y supera los intentos de integración por homogenización, aceptando que somos iguales en nuestras diferencias. En Cuba la inclusión se encuentra instituida al amparo de varias normativas jurídicas, pero su ejercicio no se manifiesta acorde a la permisibilidad de la Ley.
