La importancia del autoconcepto y rendimiento académico en alumnos universitarios según la titulación

Abstract

El objetivo de esta investigación es comprobar la relación entre las dimensiones del autoconcepto (físico, social, familiar, intelectual, personal y sensación de control) y rendimiento académico según las distintas titulaciones (Filología Inglesa y Turismo, Enfermería, Biología, Empresariales, Ingeniería Técnica en Electricidad, Historia del Arte, Psicología, Turismo, Química, Derecho, Maestro en Educación Física, Topografía y Estadística e Informática de Gestión) en estudiantes de primer curso de la Universidad de Jaén. La metodología que se plantea es de tipo cuantitativo y dentro de ella se utiliza el método correlacional obteniendo el coeficiente de correlación -r- de Pearson. La muestra es de 410 sujetos. El instrumento utilizado fue el “Cuestionario de Autoconcepto (CAG)†. Los resultados obtenidos del estudio es que solamente la carrera de Psicología y Enfermería correlacionan con algunas dimensiones del autoconcepto, en la primera se observa una correlación negativa entre el autooncepto social y el rendimeinto académico, y en la segunda es el autoconcepto familiar el que correlaciona positivamente con la nota.
