Abstract

O presente trabalho busca estimar as desigualdades educacionais nas Regiões Metropolitanas do Brasil com o intuito de identificar os desníveis entre essas regiões, e correlacioná-la à distribuição da renda. Para a realização dessa estimação foram utilizados dados referentes ao nível de escolaridade e à renda domiciliar da população, extraídos da Pesquisa Nacional por Amostra de Domicílio (PNAD) do IBGE para o período de 2001 a 2011. A estimação do índice de Gini da educação ( ) segue a metodologia proposta por Thomas, Wang e Fan (2001), e as análises de correlação se basearam no coeficiente de correlação de Pearson.
