La formación del maestro de primaria en educación ambiental: contexto educativo e investigativo

Abstract

La necesidad de formar una sociedad que no sólo sea consciente de la gravedad de la problemática medioambiental, sino que también pueda formar parte de su resolución y prevención es uno de los objetivos de la Educación Ambiental, y la educación formal es una parte importante dentro de este proceso. Así, en el currículo escolar la Educación Ambiental está presente como elemento transversal, y es el centro y sus docentes los que han de promover una actitud ambiental en los alumnos. De este modo, se espera que los profesores estén debidamente formados en Educación Ambiental, y que esta formación haya tenido lugar a su paso por las aulas universitarias. Actualmente, la Educación Ambiental no es materia cursada por todos los maestros en las universidades, lo que genera un vacío en su formación.
