El fenomeno que afecta el desempeño académico de los jóvenes

Abstract

El estrés académico se define como una reacción de activación fisiológica, emocional, cognitiva y conductual ante estímulos y eventos académicos. Todos los organismos experimentan reacciones de estrés durante su vida, pero cuando este estado se prolonga puede traducirse en un serio problema. Para una institución educativa es importante conocer los niveles de estrés académico en sus estudiantes, incluso de sus profesores, ya que este fenómeno se asocia con enfermedades como la depresión, enfermedades cardiacas, entre otras. Una diversidad de investigaciones muestra que el estrés académico ocurre desde que el estudiante inicia sus estudios de primaria, secundaria, bachillerato, etc., y que a medida que avanza los niveles de estrés aumentan, aunado a otras situaciones personales y familiares del estudiante.
