Abstract

La construcción de una Filosofía de la Educación con enfoque sur es una necesidad en la actualidad, ella abarca los análisis sobre los problemas más acuciantes de la actualidad, así como el viaje de descubrimiento hacia las principales contribuciones realizadas desde las singularidades de nuestras fronteras. El presente trabajo aborda el quehacer de una de las figuras más significativas de la Educación en Cuba durante los siglos XIX y XX, Enrique José Varona. Su nombre identifica al centro universitario de mayor experiencia en la formación de maestros para cada uno de los niveles de enseñanza, por ello aproximarnos a su quehacer constituye una necesidad y más que esto una deuda.
