¿Son buenos lectores los universitarios de las carreras técnicas? Derribar mitos

Abstract

El texto parte del análisis del proceso de lectura y comprensión para la determinación de las competencias intelectuales de los estudiantes en la Universidad Técnica Estatal de Quevedo. La competencia lectora vista como herramienta en el proceso de aprendizaje y enseñanza y las estrategias que facilitan el proceso lector en la educación universitaria en las carreras técnicas. Se ofrecen algunas recomendaciones didácticas para perfeccionar la competencia lectora con fines profesionales en los estudiantes de la UTEQ. Estas competencias deben ser enseñadas con tareas que requieran comprensión de textos e implementadas en el currículo. Desde cada una de las asignaturas de la carrera es posible lograr profesionales-lectores y se irá derribando el mito existente del profesional de ciencias con profundos conocimientos y habilidades para los cálculos, lógica matemática, etc. y no “buenos†lectores. Hacia ese objetivo se debe encauzar la labor docente del profesor de expresión oral y escrita en las carreras técnicas.
