Videojuegos En El Aula: Una Propuesta De Uso

Abstract

La industria de los videojuegos ha crecido constantemente desde los años 70 hasta desplazar a otras industrias del ocio audiovisual como el cine y la música. Además, el videojuego es considerado por muchos expertos como arte digital integrado en la cultura popular. Una gran parte del alumnado que hoy llega a las aulas ha crecido rodeada de medios digitales, parece aprender de ellos y muestra predisposición hacia esta forma de ocio. Este ensayo hace una rápida revisión de los conceptos clave, así como de los beneficios e inconvenientes del videojuego, en general, y de su uso en el aula en particular como mediador del aprendizaje, tras lo que se expondrá una propuesta basada en las experiencias documentadas en la literatura. Se concluye que, si bien la cultura popular y la cultura oficial de la escuela se encuentran distantes entre sí, es posible llevar a cabo experiencias educativas enriquecedoras para el alumnado en relación con los contenidos curriculares sin interferir con otras formas de aprendizaje.
