La Educaciã“N Ambiental: Una Oportunidad Para El Desarrollo Sostenible Desde La Metodologã A De La Educaciã“N Popular

Abstract

El presente trabajo tiene como propósito fundamental realizar un breve acercamiento histórico y teórico a la educación ambiental como una oportunidad para el desarrollo sostenible desde la metodología de la Educación Popular. En un primer momento, la autora ofrece una visión holística y sistémica del Medioambiente. Esta visión constituye la base para el entendimiento de la existencia de una crisis ambiental que urge ser superada, y para lo cual, la educación ambiental se erige como alternativa posible. Seguidamente, se argumenta la imbricación necesaria entre la educación ambiental y el desarrollo sostenible para la creación de sociedades sostenibles, equitativas y justas socialmente; unido a préstamos posibles a realizar por la metodología de la Educación Popular al movimiento de la educación ambiental. La autora concluye con una invitación a considerar una humanidad armónica con la naturaleza como forma cotidiana de vida y no como una meta a alcanzar.
