Abstract

En este artículo, el autor ofrece a los lectores un resultado parcial de su investigación histórica sobre el pensamiento filosófico y pedagógico cubano de fines del siglo XVIII y primera mitad del siglo XIX. El artículo presenta un bosquejo general acerca de la Filosofía de la educación de José Agustín Caballero y resalta algunas de sus principales rasgos. El objetivo general que orienta el estudio presentado por el autor del artículo, está dirigido a revelar las bases metodológicas, epistemológicas y sociales de la embrionaria Filosofía de la educación del Padre Caballero. Otro objetivo está orientado hacia la determinación del influjo de esa forma de pensamiento social en el inicio del proceso de formación nacional en Cuba.
