La educación en las matemáticas bajo un entorno tecnológico

Abstract

Actualmente, algunos indicadores internacionales muestran cuan mal va la educación matemática y como algunos institutos de educación superior están realizando esfuerzos importantes por sustituir el modo tradicional de educación, al cual se atribuye el estado de la situación. Al respecto, se tiene confianza en la introducción de las Tecnologías de la Información y Comunicación, en los procesos educativos y en como estas se están utilizando en diversas instituciones del país, bajo la modalidad de aulas virtuales o plataformas tecnológicas. Se hace referencia a teorías como la Teoría Cognitiva del Aprendizaje Multimedia la cual es expuesta por Richard Mayer y que explica como el aprendizaje es facilitado por las presentaciones en multimedia. En ese sentido, el propósito de este ensayo es profundizar sobre las expectativas y logros alcanzados en la educación con entornos virtuales. Se presentan patrones, tendencias y avances en materia de introducción de la tecnología digital, específicamente, en el campo de educación matemática.
