Abstract

El proceso formativo del profesional de nivel superior debe ir a prepararlo para enfrentar los retos de un mundo globalizado donde entre los muchos peligros que asechan al hombre común está la perdida de la identidad, el desconocimiento de los valores culturales e históricos locales y la imposición de modelos culturales que le son ajenos. El autor propone un programa de Historia y cultura locales para impartirlo a los estudiantes del primer año de todas las carreras en la Sede Universitaria Municipal de su municipio de residencia como contribución a la formación de una cultura general e integral y a la formación en valores de los futuros profesionales en el marco de la universalización de la educación superior en condiciones de municipalización.
