Abstract

Na atualidade podemos afirmar que a educação faz parte como também é de responsabilidade do Estado? Em que medida? Tomando este pressuposto inicial que serve muito mais como uma provocação para uma análise mais acurada do problema, está a posição do filósofo Platão. Assim, a intenção de nossa resenha, será de expor brevemente alguns aspectos sobre a educação neste brilhante capítulo intitulado A Educação enquanto responsabilidade do Estado da obra de Evilázio Teixeira. O autor, Mestre em Filosofia, Doutor em Teologia, docente, pesquisador da Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS) e atualmente, Vice-reitor da mesma Instituição, buscou de maneira leve e consistente refletir a partir do pensamento de Platão (427-347 a.C.), a educação dada pelo e no Estado e sua relevância na vida do indivíduo e da polis.
