Bernardino Genga. Anatomía para la comprensión artística

Abstract

Este artículo trata sobre el tratado Anatomia per uso et intelligenza del disegno, publicado por Bernardino Genga a fines del siglo XVII, uno de los primeros manuales de anatomía artística. Genga era profesor de anatomía en la Accademia Regia di Francia in Roma, por lo que tenía una especial preocupación en componer un libro pedagógico que mostrara con claridad y perfección la imagen de las estructuras corporales. Para ello contó con los grabados de Charles Errard, de quien quizá tuvo la idea de añadir imágenes de esculturas clásicas anatomizadas. El resultado fue uno de los libros de anatomía artística más bellamente ilustrados de la historia.
