Coleccionismo artístico en el antiguo Palacio Provincial de Oviedo (1910-2010)

Abstract

La actual sede parlamentaria del Principado de Asturias alberga un conjunto de obras de arte procedentes de la colección de la extinta Diputación Provincial, dotada de un majestuoso palacio levantado en pleno centro de Oviedo desde 1910. La institución veló en precario por la conservación de los bienes rescatados por la Comisión Provincial de Monumentos y a partir de las últimas décadas de 1800 desarrolló, con la ayuda de la Academia de Bellas Artes de San Salvador, una importante labor como promotora de las artes, que en tiempos recientes la Junta General retomó con la convocatoria de un premio de pintura que tras diez anualidades acaba de ser suprimido.
