Crecimiento económico y divergencia en la América Latina

Abstract

Este trabajo investiga la existencia de convergencia en 17 países latinoamericanos durante el periodo 1950-1990. El trabajo presente, primero, un análisis de la dispersión del ingreso per cápita. Esto es seguido de un estudio de la evolución del ingreso relativo de los paísis de la región, y por la estimación de ecuaciones que permiten detectar la presencia de convergencia estocástica. El tema de la persistencia de tasas de crecimiento es analizado a continuación y el trabajo termina con una serie de conclusiones.
