Abstract

Desde la década de los cincuenta comenzó a extenderse la concepción de que la integración entre países, en uniones aduaneras, zonas de libre comercio o áreas de preferencias, constituía un medio para elevar la competitividad de las naciones. Actualmente, la intención de formar espacios económicos multinacionales se ha convertido en una de las tendencias que marcan el panorama económico del fin del siglo. El mundo que se perfila a partir de esta década enfenta modificaciones tanto en la naturaleza de la economía mundial, como en la elaboración del orden y la hegemonía internacionales, que inevitablemente expanden la dinámica de las economías nacionales más allá de sus fronteras...
