Abstract

El Premio Nobel que me ha concebido la Real Academia Científica de Suecia representa para mí un honor muy grande que aprecio profundamente. Me siento en especial honrado porque esta es la primera ocasión en que el laureado por las ciencias económicas pronuncia su Conferencia Nobel anta la Academia de Ciencias. Se ha convertido en tradición que el laureado presente sus principales contribuciones en relación con la motivación del premio, en esta caso "mis trabajos de introductor sobre la teoría de los mercados y la utilización eficaz de los recursos". Yo me permitiría interpretar esta motivación en sentido amplio, es decir como algo relativo a todas las condiciones susceptibles de asegurar una eficacia máxima de la economía para satisfacer de la mejor manera posible las necesidades de los hombres en relación con los recursos limitados a su disposición...
