Abstract

Uno de esos raros días en que por falta de otro periódico más manuable e interesante en lengua inglesa compre el viajero en Europa el Times de Londres, leí la nota necrológica sobre el profesor Nicholas Kaldor -lord Kaldor para el público inglés, Nicky Kaldor para quienes fuimos sus alumnos, colegas y amigos. Falleció el 30 de septiembre, a los 78 años. La nota no dice de qué dolencia pero en los últimos años se le veía acabado, poco ágil. Mi último encuentro con él fue en Fiésole, en las afueras de Florencia, a principios de septiembre de 1982, con motivo de una mesa redonda de la Asociación Internacional de Economía sobre "Teoría monetaria e instituciones económicas". Llevaba yo una ponencia y mi comentarista principal iba a ser Kaldor...
